US- Afghan operation to detain supporters of the Taliban police

Safart joint operation between US forces and the Afghan army , last week , targeting police officers suspected of supporting the Taliban militants in Helmand province , killing one policeman and arrested 30 others .

Said Helmand police chief Abdul Rahman Sargang The incident occurred Friday in the Sangin district , which has seen some of the bloodiest clashes in the Afghan war .
 
"The army forces have arrested police officers , and transferred to a military site in Helmand ," explaining that the acting police chief of Sangin among the detainees .

Sargang declined to confirm the reason for the operation, but a senior official in the Afghan army in Helmand, told " Reuters " The army and advisers Americans suspect that the police provide the Taliban with weapons and ammunition , and that they would surrender themselves to movement in the end.

The official said , " During our investigation, we came to some evidence that they are helping the Taliban , and we were afraid to hand over the area to the Taliban. We launched a joint operation with the Americans , and Aatqlnahm all."
